I’m Scott Riddell, the owner and founder of Riddell Plumbing Inc., and I was born and raised right here in Dallas, Texas. As a teenager, I tried several different jobs and trades, and finally at the age of 19, I started working at a plumbing company. We lost a very mature bloodgood Japanese Maple in the drought of 2011. We had to leave the day we had it removed - it would have been too hard to watch. After an exhaustive search for maples which would withstand Texas summers and drought, we found Metro Maples. In its place we planted a Fire DragonShantung Maple from MM and it has exceeded our expectations.
Sure, you could buy a Japanese Maple from a home improvement store, but why would you?
Metro Maples is in its 27th year as a quality grower of Japanese and Chinese (Shantung and Trident) maples. It began as the dream of Keith Johansson and now under the ownership of Scott Hubble has an inventory of over 15,000 trees on 6 acres. Metro Maples currently produces and sells only maple trees and a few Ginkgo. Our motto is "A Maple For Every Spot," because we carry over 100 varieties that come in all sizes and colors--even for the heat and sunny or shady locations.
